Wilbern Leon Robbins was born in Rural Phelps County on May 19, 1932 to George and Mayme (Alvey) Robbins. Wilbern departed this life October 30,2015. Wilbern was united in marriage to Janice (Gann) Richardson on September 7, 1989. His wife Janice preceded him in death on March 25, 2014. Wilbern farmed most of his life. He worked for the sanitation department at Ft. Leonard Wood as a young man. He farmed at home for some years and then became employed with the Phelps County Highway Department where he drove truck and operated heavy equipment. Wilbern was an avid hunter and always looked forward to deer season with great anticipation. He also loved to coon hunt and fish. After retiring from the highway department he and Janice were able to hunt and fish until their health hindered them. In addition to his wife, Janice, he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Doyle (infant), George Leo, Larry, Tom, Jim, Orval Wayne, and sister, Maxcine Strom. He is survived by step-sons Danny Richardson, Gary Richardson, Larry Richardson and Joe Richardson and their families; brothers Libern “Cord”, Walter(May), Darrell (Belinda), and sisters Wanda (Doug) Baker and Verneal Ramsey; also a host of step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws and many friends who will miss him dearly.
